So far, I’m very happy with the product. For me, this was the only way to add suspension to my saddle because my seatpost also houses the battery.

I’ve ridden about 130 km with the suspension so far, and everything is still working great. When buying it, you should pay attention to the maximum weight rating so you don’t put too much load on the product.

Since I’m not exactly lightweight, I’ve checked underneath the saddle several times to make sure everything is still intact. So far, everything looks good.

Overall, I can definitely recommend this product.

I’ve been using the Air Seat 1 for a bit now, and while the suspension takes a little getting used to, it honestly works well for my riding style. I’m not a long-distance cyclist by any means, so I just needed something comfortable, supportive, and easy to live with—and this checks all the boxes. Installation was a breeze, which I always appreciate; it’s basically a quick swap and you’re ready to ride.

The oversized saddle with its thick, high-density foam really does make a difference. It gives a wider, more forgiving surface that feels great on casual rides, and the ergonomic shape keeps pressure off the lower back and hips. I also like that the front is designed to prevent thigh chafing, because that can ruin a ride fast.

The synthetic leather covering feels tough, grippy, and weatherproof—just wipe it dry and go. And since it fits most commuter and city bikes (including e-bikes and stationary bikes), it’s pretty versatile.

All in all, once you adjust to the suspension feel, it’s a solid comfort upgrade—especially for riders like me who just want smoother, more enjoyable everyday rides.

So far, I really like this seat suspension. It is quite easy to install and does not add extra bulk to my seat. Also gave me the ability to adjust my seat more than I had it before. I have a frame that is right at the line of being too small for my 6’3″ self, and this seat has given me the opportunity to back it up the extra 1/4″ I needed to get my pedal/knee alignment perfect. I can also install my under seat storage bag with this suspension installed, which I didn’t think was going to be possible.

As for the operation of the seat, it is about as perfect as one could hope for. In addition to being on the tall side, I am also a stocky fellow. Therefore, I got the “Large” version, which can handle my weight. I am in the 250 lbs vicinity (+ or – depending on how much gravity we have on any given day ;-p ) and the large version is just perfect. The suspension is stiff enough not to make it bouncy while pedaling, but soft enough to absorb the impact of my hardtail frame going off a curb, etc. It’s just the right mix for me.

The components are nicely machined and the unit feels extremely sturdy while installed. Threaded parts all thread into metal threads, and the markings are clear and easy to read. Mine came with blue locktite installed on all the screws, which is a major relief when you think about the consequences of your seat falling off on a mountain bike…

All in all, I am very pleased with this unit and I feel like it will be a ‘sit bone’ saver that will allow me to keep my non-chafing saddle, and be able to sit down after a ride.

I’ve been using it for a week for my daily commute, about 15 km per day, on a folding bike.

It works very well on the uneven roads in the city center and on urban bike paths. With the size L, it feels stable while pedaling, and the overall build quality is very good.

It’s worth checking whether your saddle is compatible beforehand, as the saddle needs to be slid onto the rails of the product for installation.

I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because the documentation isn’t completely accurate. In theory, the size M should have been suitable for my weight, but with M the saddle tilted upward. Switching to L solved the problem.

Installation may also require special short Allen keys if your saddle is narrow, due to the limited space available.

I’ll reassess it after a few months of use.

Update after one month:

I can confirm that this is an excellent solution for folding bikes, which are often incompatible with conventional suspension seatposts. It provides significant relief for my back when riding in the city, especially on uneven pavement.

If the saddle mounting bracket on the seatpost has a large offset, the saddle rails may not be long enough to be properly secured.

In my case, the plastic part that holds the rails sits on top of the seatpost’s saddle mounting bracket. I’ve ridden about 500 km with it so far, and thankfully, the plastic part hasn’t cracked or shown any signs of damage. It has been working comfortably and reliably so far.

This is a really well constructed seat. I was able to trade it out with my old seet in no time flat. It is very comfortable. It has a sturdy but pliable cushion which looks like it will be very weather resistant. Also, it has shock absorbing springs that help on rough terrain. Great value!

It’s especially suitable for bikes without suspension, particularly folding bikes.

The design isn’t too bulky or complicated—it’s actually quite simple.

It doesn’t feel uncomfortable or get in the way while riding, and the added suspension makes the ride much more comfortable. It also does a great job of absorbing small vibrations.

For larger bumps or speed bumps, just like with a regular bike, I’d recommend lifting yourself off the saddle when riding over them. If you stay seated, the spring tension can cause you to bounce up from the saddle.

For taller riders, folding bikes can sometimes have a saddle that feels too short, but with the Air Seat installed, that’s no longer something to worry about.

Based on my experience, I would recommend choosing a size one level higher than the one recommended for your body weight.

Nothing wrong with this device whatsoever. A casual rider with a stocky frame, it’s nice to have a little extra shock absorption. This device delivers on that goal, handily. While no fault of the device, I felt that the mild wavy feeling to the ride it affords was just a tad off-putting for me. I think this is a personal preference, and not a sign of any design flaw. It just wasn’t a feeling I gravitate to. Otherwise, a well-designed suspension device that smooths the bumps. Five stars.

This is a great seat suspension for sure. The only negative I can say is the height it raises your seat. Im on the shorter inseam side. So I have my seat post at the bottom already. This raises my seat up quite a bit. If you have room to move your seat post down your fine.

I noticed a difference riding right away. It moves with you. Its a weird feeling. I could feel less of the jarring and more of the seat shifting. I really like it. I did find the screws that hold your existing seat on the sides of this unit are easy to strip but I had a lot of extras of same size. I was careful as well but one did strip on the head of the bolt.

I would recommend this for sure but only if your tall enough to add a few inches of seat height. Really cool design that works.

I wanted some sort of suspension on my ebike seat, and I’ve tried others that were less expensive, and you can feel how cheap they are in the ride. I ditched those and tried this thing, and I’m loving it. At first, I was like, This isn’t doing anything, and then I’d hit some bumps and think I didn’t feel much. Maybe this isn’t doing anything? Then I carefully reached my hand under the seat to feel what it was doing, and to my surprise, it was doing a lot. I think the fact that I wasn’t really feeling what it was doing was a testament to how good this is. All I can say is that this thing is staying on my bike from now on. The more I ride, the more I realize how much more comfortable my rides are now.

This probably goes without mentioning, and be aware that this adds height to your seat, so if you’re normally riding with the seat post all the way down, it may make your seat too high for you.

I recently got a gimbal for my phone, so I’m going to try and post a video of the Air Seat working while I’m riding. Stay tuned…

Okay, mountain bike seats aren’t supposed to be comfortable as you usually don’t sit much, especially on technical trails. Those days are long behind me and I ride places where I remain seated a lot on a Specialized hardtail which has a hard plastic saddle. I have always used a gel type seatcover for added comfort but in reality these help but are never “comfortable” This Air Seat 1 is wider, way more padded, and has springs the sum of which makes this a very comfortable mountain bike saddle without looking like something off of a 1960’s tricyle. It was an easy swap (the mounting rails are the exact width of the stock Specialized saddle) and I recommend this to anyone for increased riding comfort.

After using this for a few weeks I can say that this definitely makes riding more comfortable. I have a hard tail mountain bike that I use for trail riding and this helps to smooth out the bumps. I liked it so much I bought two!

First of all, I love riding bikes and I love putting them together. I’m a regular joe like you and not an engineer so I can’t say how the parts will hold out long term.

This product is on the high recommendation list as of right now. It’s true, it’s ugly as hell and maybe even overpriced but that doesn’t take away from what it was designed to do—soften the ride down. I haven’t taken it on single track yet but I’m pretty positive it’s going to perform similarly to when I purposefully rode through cracks, bumps, and potholes. It’s not 100% smooth because it can only travel so far, don’t fool yourself, but it sure does dampen it by a lot and with a smoother ride comes speed. Just like a car, the smoother the ride the more confidence you’ll have in going faster. What normally would’ve been a seat imprint on my bottom side turned into nothing but a slight tap. It will bottom out, and is very dependent on the scenario, but if you ride it safely and don’t expect full shockproof air pillow suspension then everything will be fine—though it is close to that.

I’ve had it for maybe 2 months now and the durability and quality of the product seems to still remain the same. I ride both an aggressive gravel bike and a light touring laid back cruiser that are both rigid. That’s right, I bought it twice! I did follow their recommendations, and you definitely should, and go with the heavier duty spring for the more upright “light touring bike.” I went with a lower one for the more aggressive “gravel bike.” And honestly, I haven’t really felt that bottom out feeling when riding around. For reference, I’m 170 lbs so use that as you will.

There are cons but it’s very minor as I see right now. It sucks but you will have to center your seat onto the air seat rails. They do leave room for adjustability but it’s very little. So depending on how you ride with your seat, up front or out back, you may or may not find this comfortable or supportive enough but it didn’t seem to affect me, really. Another thing to know is that it will raise your stand-over height so do be aware before purchasing that you have enough clearance otherwise you’re either going to be sitting really high or you’re going to have to cut that dropper post in half so you can sit on top, haha. I also didn’t like that there weren’t any silvers available in the size I needed when I was purchasing so I had to buy two blacks instead. Very minor but still doesn’t affect the actual performance unless you were performing in the matching parts look.

I wanted to write this review because I believe this is an excellent accessory for your bike. And to the Air Seat folks, if you want to send anything else my way, I’d be happy to take it, haha!

They white seat shown in my photos is the original seat that came with my bike. It was hard and narrow and did not have any suspension. This new seat is much more comfortable and has the suspension to absorb bumps. It was very easy to install. However, it does not go on every bike seat post. You need to make sure that the seat post you have supports this bracket. The memory foam makes the seat softer and it is a little wider than my original one.

My 20″ eBike has a “non-standard” seatpost that is 34 mm in diameter and 500 mm long, with a tapered end where the saddle bracket attaches. This means there are very few suspension seatpost options that fit without requiring additional adapters or shims, which would only add to the cost.

Installation of the Air Seat was pretty straightforward, and the instructions were clear enough. If you can handle basic bike maintenance, you should be able to install it without any trouble. Although the instructions recommend not using the Air Seat with saddles that already have built-in shock absorbers or springs, my saddle is fairly firm, so it still worked well for me.

I weigh 83 kg and found the Medium version (65–85 kg) did a good job of taking the edge off bumps and jolts from uneven surfaces, such as low curbs and gravel roads. It didn’t feel too soft or too firm.

However, this type of suspension design doesn’t move straight up and down like a parallelogram suspension seatpost. Instead, the saddle tilts slightly back and forth. While this does help absorb some of the impact from uneven surfaces, some riders may find the movement uncomfortable or take some time to get used to it. The design also allows the saddle to move slightly while pedaling, which some riders may not like.

I gave it four stars because, overall, I think it does a good job. It offers good value for the money, is easy to install, and provides a noticeable improvement in comfort for a bike that didn’t have suspension before. However, I think it would be even better if the manufacturer included different springs so users could swap them out and find the suspension setting that works best for their riding style and comfort.
